XXVII. Simple Complexity #1

You.

The Complexity
:

Did you know?
  • There are 206 bones in the human body. Each bones has its own shape. Each bone has its purpose.
  • In one day, your blood travels nearly 12,000 miles. Your heart beats around 35 million times per year. Your heart pumps a million barrels of blood during the average lifetime -- enough to fill three supertankers.
  • Your fingerprints are like no one else on this earth...ever!
  • You have anywhere between 50,000,000,000 to 100,000,000,000 cells in your body, all functioning by themselves yet working together to create different parts of your body. Some form bone. Some form skin. Some form organs. And some form blood.
  • Your body has a temperature ranging 97 degrees to 99 degrees. Too cold and you get hypothermia. Too hot and you have a fever.
  • Your brain can remember every second of your life and still have room for more memories for the future. (Now accessing it takes time :) )
  • You are the most complex yet most efficient "machine" on this earth. You run for 70 or 80 years with more parts to keep working on than any other machine that could ever be created.
  • And that is to just name a few.

But did you also know?

  • You are made up of a trichotomy. You are not only a body, i.e., you can interact physically with your surroundings. You are also soul, i.e., you can comprehend and reason around the physical objects and have feelings about things. But you are also spirit, i.e., you have something special from God that separates us from the rest of creation. You are made in His image. You were created to be with Him. Hebrews 4
  • You are the only creature in all of creation to have a relationship with Him. There are no other alien being in all the universe. There is nothing else created like you. You are created in the image of God. You bear His likeness. Genesis 1
  • Your home is not here on the earth. Even though we have the physical on the outside, we are spiritual beings. John 14

The Simple:

Did you know?

  • You are valuable to God. Romans 5

Prove it. Does the bible say that? No.

All that you wrote is good and true, but that line of thought has gotten us into trouble in the past. It leads to comments like,

"...finding intelligent other-worldly life would be inconsistent with the existence of God or at least organized religion."

Jill Tarter
SETI

"The Bible makes no provision for God to redeem any other species, any more than to redeem fallen angels. Therefore, existance of aliens would be in direct contravention to God’s ordained authority structure when he ordered mankind to ‘subdue’ the earth—also known as the dominion mandate."

Gary Bates
Creation Ministries International

This sets up christianity for a fall in the event of visitors from outside our little neighborhood.

Most point to Romans 8:22 as proof that we are all there is.

"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. "

All this says is that all of creation is feeling the effects of our stupidity and disobedience. I believe creation possibly enjoys a closer relationship to the creator than we do at the present time.

Think about it. What did Yeshua say when the priests told him to quiet the praises of the crowd. He said that if the people were to stop, the rocks would cry out in praise.

Yes. We are special to God. We hold a position with God that is just a little lower than the angels and he LOVES SO MUCH that he was willing to give himself as a sacrifice for us to be reconcile back with him.

But there is no place in the bible that says we're the only ones. Don't you think that it's possible that all of creation, including some outside our sphere of influence, is waiting for the disobedient and prodigal son to come home.

Man is the only one made in His image. Can I prove it scientifically? No. But there are a lot of things I personally can't prove with science. But science sometimes can prove what they know with their logic.

I am not quite for sure what you mean about the rocks. Are you saying they could be aliens? Or they have a special relation as well? I think the passage you bring up means that if His special creation (man) will not acknowledge Him then He can start a relation with anything. His creation will cry out for us. I don't think it means that there are "others" in the universe waiting for a savior.

If they are waiting for a savior and He does it for them as well on their planets that takes away the specialty of what he did for us. It means I am not that special. Did He die for all the animals as well? Who knows? I don't think He did. It would be nice though.

If He did it for them while He was here then what happened to all of those beings before this because apparently it takes billions and billions of years to get here.

So no, I personally do not think there are other beings in the universe. Now is there "animal" life somewhere else? That I may agree with, but nothing like man.

I do understand the problem we have with that but I think 95% would only be from the scientific world. But I will try and look things up and see where this takes us.

I'm laughing. ;-):-):-):-):-) Honestly… I'm really laughing. ;-):-):-):-):-) See the smiley faces?

Now, seriously, back to the challenge. Prove your assertion by the bible, only the bible.

You said:

"You are the only creature in all of creation to have a relationship with Him. There are no other alien being in all the universe. There is nothing else created like you."

I asked you to prove it by the bible.

Steel sharpens steel my friend and brothers don't let brother get away with things like this. I would expect you to challenge me on anything I say.....wait a minute ..... you do. I remember recently a discussion on the trinity. ;-) You didn't let Adam or I get away with things. Now it's your turn. I'm not letting you get away with anything not supported by the bible.:-) Isn't this fun?????? ;-)

"Man is the only one made in His image"

The Bible says that man was created in his image. It doesn't say he was the only one.

"I am not quite for sure what you mean about the rocks."

Verses like:

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

and

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

and

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

shows us there's more to creation than what we eat and walk upon. We can't hear the praise of all creation because we are in a fallen state...or do you subscribe to the idea that if you're not in the forest when the tree falls, there was no sound.

"His creation will cry out for us. I don't think it means that there are "others" in the universe waiting for a savior."

Does it discount the possibility of others? Plus....I didn't say that there were others waiting for a savior. The bible doesn't say that. The Bible tells us that the only creature that fell was man. Mankind needs to get off the high horse where they think that all of creation fell when he did. Does the bible say that? I don't think so TIM. Sorry...I had to say that. ;-)

"If they are waiting for a savior and He does it for them as well on their planets that takes away the specialty of what he did for us. It means I am not that special. Did He die for all the animals as well? Who knows? I don't think He did. It would be nice though."

Where in the bible does it say we are special? We are loved by the creator of all things to the point that he didn't want to wipe the slate clean...again.

"If He did it for them while He was here then what happened to all of those beings before this because apparently it takes billions and billions of years to get here."

What appears to us as billions of years is but a pittance to God and possibly to those who enjoy an extra-dimensional existence, those who POSSIBLY did not fall when man did.

"I do understand the problem we have with that but I think 95% would only be from the scientific world. But I will try and look things up and see where this takes us."

That's what our ministry is all about. Helping others get away from traditional thinking and get back to what the bible tells us. Remember, that's what made you mad about Adam Pastor.

Gozreht has been in a pretty good conversation with this guy Adam Paster concerning the trinity, which is not in the bible either.;-)

May God Bless You My Friend

The Trinity? BTW you did not answer :) Reread what I asked. (For the readers, No Doubt and I are correspondents and even more we're great friends. His link is at the side of the main page.)

I think Biblically all of creation fell with man. The ground was cursed. It would grow thistles and thorns. (Genesis 3:17-18)Death entered the world. I believe this means animals as well. We were all vegetarians. Animals and man now had a different relationship, which would change again after the Flood. I guess I should say creation did not fall but was cursed due to man. I think this is so because we could not live here seeing Paradise everyday yet not being able to touch it. The earth was cursed so we could still live here.

I understand the parable with the rocks crying out. I wasn't quite for sure if you were taking the scripture to a different level or not.

I think we're special because we're not called to save the souls of animals. We're not called to save the souls of aliens or even angels. We're called to bring mankind to Christ. I think that right there sums it up for me.

Those who did not fall when man fell? Are you saying that there may be aliens who do not know sin? Then don't ket them come here! We'll corrupt them comepletely.

I will take your challenge. I may never find anything that will soothe your mind, but it will mine.

BTW, Trinity is still a concept! I had to throw that in there.

Take care.

Of course, a lot of what we wrote was tongue in cheek. But seriously, I think it's important not to read into the scriptures what is not there and not discount anything that is not discounted by scripture.

Two hypothetical questions before I go. It the church continues this exclusiveness of man and all of sudden ET shows up, how will the church respond? Or is the concept of ET setting us up for an invasion of demons upon this world as some respected contemporary scholars have espoused?

No Doubt,

I haven't been able to give my full attention to your question but here are some thoughts.

1) Scripture as a whole does not mention "life" on other planets. That to me is the first step to believing what I have said about man. I feel ther would be some kind of hint of how man is not alone. But the only things that ARE mentioned out there are angels, demons, God (Trinity) and satan.
2) The end of all existence will be destroyed. God will create a new earth and a new heaven. When will this happen? The date is unknown but the cause God will be done with mankind. Will God create a new world for others because of us?
3) Why will the earth have to be destroyed? Because we sinned. Would God destroy the whole universe because we sinned? That looks like a yes. But would He destroy other human life forms because of us? If so, then that just proves my point. If the rest dies because of us then we are the ones who God's timetable revolves around.
4) If we can't prove it scientifically, it's not going to matter what scripture says anyway. The science world will not accept it. This is where our faith comes in and it comes in over science.

I appreciate your comment.
